The Justice Society Goes To War--Chapter 1

It's the day after Pearl Harbor, and all the members of the Justice Society have something important on their mind:

They've all enlisted in the army in their civilian identities!!

But wait--what about Johnny Thunder?

D'oh!! Oh, Johnny!

And don't forget:

Ghosts can't enlist!!

So what happens when the most powerful people on the planet enlist in the military? Tune in later this morning for that update!!

I assume they had an unfortunate period of a Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy for ghosts for a while?

I think it was because his medical condition (i.e. undeath) would have been a little hard to explain to the Army doctors. I mean, look at what Steve Rogers went through!

I seem to recall, though, a very brief mention (one-panel?) that Corrigan eventually figured out how to fake vital signs long enough to fool the docs, whereupon he promptly joined the Marines, where his alter ego's bloodlust (and his own antisocial tendencies) wouldn't be noticed at all! (I kid, I kid.)
