The Final Fate Of The Big Bad Wolf!!

Hey, kids, it's time for another adventure with...

See, Little Red Riding Hood is in trouble!

Meanwhile...

"CLANG CLANG DANG"!!

So...

Ah, but the Big Bad Wolf ain't finished yet!

If that's his weakness, maybe he should wear a helmet?

So the Wolf hijacks Cosmo's spaceship...

See, Cosmo doesn't need a ship to fly through space. I guess he was just being like Abin Sur or something.

So you know how this story is going to end, right?

NO YOU DON'T!!!

Wait.

WHAT THE FRAK?!?! Wha--Huh? How--who...?!? WHAT????

I know some of you are wondering if I left something out, or monkeyed with the panel order, or something.

Nope. Enjoy the comic flow of the final page in its entirety:

Umm...well...wait...

WHY DID WE JUST WATCH A SUPER-POWERED CAT DRIVE A CARTOON WOLF TO AN OFF-PANEL BUT OBVIOUS SUICIDE AND HE JUST SHRUGS AND WALKS AWAY?!?!?!

And what comic book did this appear in?

Hilarious and nutty, indeed.

LOOK, KIDS--COMICS!!!

The Pyrrhic Victory of Power Man Vs. Power Man!!

A couple of months ago, we discussed how Luke Cage picked the hero name Power Man.

Someone wasn't too happy about that:

This was one of the first comics I had, before I even started collecting them, and boy did I read the hell outta this book.

The old school Power Man is terrorizing the theater where Luke hangs his hat, calling him out to fight over the sobriquet:

We begin with some baseball-related preliminaries...

We're on to the main event, Friday Night Fights-style!!

The funny thing, after that dust-up, and the dire threat, well, Luke eventually just gave up using the Power Man name, and Eric Josten moved on to other names. So, really, a big ol' fight about nothing. Which is exactly what 85% of 1970s comic books were all about.

Oh, and don't worry--Luke didn't forget the little girl he asked to wait outside:

Now that's a hero!!

The Lady Or The Puppet?!?

Power Man has replaced Ben Grimm in the Fantastic Four! The Puppet Master has used his magic/science clay to take control of Luke Cage, having him a) kidnap Alicia, b) steal the Fantasticar, and c) bust him out of prison!

But Reed invented an exo-skeleton for Ben!! And now he's battling Power Man atop the Fantasticar!!

Goddamn, I love this comic book. Is it any wonder I was hooked?
