The really crazy thing about this comparison is that we are talking about the Fantastic Four - Marvel's first family, longest running comic book, a team that has received 2 previous movies and a cartoon series - to Ant-Man - a rather obscure comic character for non-comic book fans, who has the dorky name Ant-Man...
Fox really needs to give Fantastic Four (and X-Men!!!) back to Marvel. Or Marvel needs to step up to the plate and make Fox a monetary offer that they can't refuse.
I mean, even X-Men should be doing a heckuva lot better than it is. DOFP had a reported budget (not including marketing and a host of other things that cost a lot of money) of $200,000,000 and brought in $748,100,000. $500mil certainly beats a sharp stick in the eye but considering this is the X-Men and the massive casts they have on these movies, it should probably be doing a lot better.
