Manic Monday Triple Overtime--Radio Dramas Were MUCH Better On Earth-2!!

It turns out that this isn't too far from the truth.:

Now, I don't want to say that this story existed just to promote the Adventures Of Superman radio show...

...but yeah, it kinda is.

But it turns out that Earth-2 had a very important quirk with their Golden Age radio dramas:

Apparently, you didn't use actors! Superman was going to portray himself!!

And Lois was going to play herself, too!

Meta-commentary:

Yes, the comic is supposed to promote the radio show!

Of course, it's all an east-coast media elite LIE!!

Huh?

So why the actor, Clark?

Because with everyone knowing exactly where Supermen was at that moment for his live broadcast, it's like open season for crime!

Well, Kal-El is ready for that!

Superman thwarts the robbery...but Metropolis citizens are far more concerned that they dared use an actor to portray the Man Of Steel!

HOW DARE THEY TRY AND FOOL US WITH THESE "ACTORS"?!?!?

J. Jonah Jameson must have been editing the Metropolis Star back then...

But Superman promises--PROMISES--that it won't happen again!

So...

Fair point.

Anyway, what does Kal-El have in mind?

That's a microphone he's wearing over his S symbol...

At the auto show, they're playing the radio broadcast...

...and Superman is hiding out in the statue!

So when the the broadcast starts, and the crooks swing into action:

And in the greatest moment in radio history, Superman leaps into the fray, live-narrating his crime-fighting for the audience!

The listeners lap it up!

Much, much better than any "live-stream" "podcast" you modern kids are so into!!

He tracks the escaped bosses back to their crib...

Oh, and crooks are stupid.

And reminding you of the entire purpose of this story?

SYNERGY!!

From Superman #39 (1946)

Gotta love it--to keep criminals from stealing priceless cars, Superman wrecks the cars.
