Manic Monday--Let's Get Our Week Started Off Properly!!

What could be a better way to start a week...

...than young Liz Taylor with a kitten?

What's that letter ruining the front cover?

Oh, just a little epistle from Dwight Eisenhower, Chester Nimitz and the rest of America's top military brass, guilting the "more than 1/2 million" girls who read this magazine to pony up for more war bonds:

It never ceases to amaze me that one of the greatest military operations in history was essentially paid for by an early form of crowd-funding--some $185 billion out of $350 billion came from the sale of war bonds. That's some Kickstarter!! "if we meet our stretch goal, we'll invade Japan..."

Anyway, enough distractions.  Liz. And kittens!

And this:

Man, dig that jacket...
