There's an episode of the 1966 TV series that ends with Mr. Freeze turning Batman and Robin into "human popsicles" -- in the next episode, though, we learn all is well because Batman and Robin were wearing their "bat thermal underwear." Even as a kid I thought that was lame because - duh - clearly Robin would have lost both legs. But now, thanks to this blog, I know better!
On the tv show, it's pretty apparent Robin was wearing pantyhose...
They weren't so much pantyhose as they were TIGHTS, Britt! :) In the second serial, Robin wore leggings or tights over his legs. I don't know if he had 'em in the first serial or not, though. :)
