Tales From The Quarter Bin--Breakfast Of Champions!!

You can never tell what you're going to find in the depths of the Quarter Bin. But this being an Olympic year, perhaps this was an especially appropriate treasure to stumble across:

In case you're not clear on the corporate hierarchy involved here, let's be clear: This is...

...Tony's Sports Comics...

...as presented by Sports Illustrated...

...and published by DC Comics.

Everybody clear?

Anyway, young Jane is having a tough time master the hurdles for her upcoming pentathlon, but her coach Tawky Tawny Tony The Tiger knows just the cure:

And say what you will about the sugary cereal being "part" of a good breakfast...

But that's one heaping bowl, isn't it?

Still, it's probably no worse for you than this Olympic training food...

Still, breakfast concerns aside, this is a pretty harmless giveaway comic, a decently-enough done autobiography/inspirational story of Jackie Joyner-Kersee, encouraging kids to persevere, and never give up, overcome hurdles (get it?), and yada yada.

And of course, you have an anthropomorphic cartoon tiger hawking cereal while interacting with a real-life Olympic champion. That, alone, is worth the price of admission!
