Manic Monday--Law & Order: Riverdale!!

And then there was that time Archie sent Veronica's dad to a lengthy prison term:

You see, one day Archie sees Mr. Lodge on the street...

Well, somehow (because there doesn't seem to be any actual evidence), this leads to Mr. Lodge being indicted for bribery in some land shenanigans...

And then the prosecutor finds out what Archie saw, and he has to testify, so...

Because handing someone an envelope on a public street in broad daylight = "bribery" and "guilty as sin."

Of course, Archie's friends turn in him...

As do random strangers on the street...

Well, surely there's a reasonable explanation!! And surely the Senator can shed some light on this...

Oh.

Well, that's it--open and shut case!!

Until a courtroom surprise!

And the truth?

D'oh!!

So, just to be clear...even though the prosecutor had no idea what was actually in the envelope, had no money trail showing any funds going from Lodge to the senator, could point to no actions or votes of the senator which would indicate he had been bribed, and the fact that there would have been a public record of the land transaction to exonerate Lodge...despite all this, the prosecutor took Lodge to trial. And this was *before* he had heard Archie's story.

Your Riverdale tax dollars at work!!

Fortunately, Archie's actions give us the moral of the story...

Also, elect better prosecutors.

Evidence? We don't need no evidence!
