Friday Night Fights--No Rules Style!!

Hmmm, I haven't used the Hulk in a Friday Night Fight for awhile. Time to fix that, methinks.

Bruce Banner's in Egypt, where he stumbles upon a race of highly advanced aliens. They've "evolved" beyond war...so whenever they a major dispute, they have a gladiatorial game featuring kaiju they've "seeded" on primitive worlds. They Thunderdome it out, survivor's homeworld wins the dispute. A most civilized way to do things (except for planet that "hosts" the combat...but why be picky?)

Banner manages to stop one of the "seeds" from being activated (It's the Sphinx!!), but he can't prevent the other from being activated:

NOTE: sorry, it seems that Google ate my end notes here.

Quickly, the story is from Incredible Hulk #145 (1971), by Roy Thomas ("the basic plotline"), Len Wein, Herb Trimpe and John Severin.

Now, head over to Spacebooger's crib and vote!!

It's only a flesh wound!

This is fabulous. I love how the Hulk is so bewildered at being attacked. He doesn't even know this guy!
