There was much twittering on the interwebs over WB's need to digitally remove Henry Cavill's mustache from the reshoots in Justice League.
The excuse given was that Cavill's contract with Paramount for Mission Impossible 6 required him to not shave it off under any circumstances during the shooting of that movie, thus necessitating the much-mocked CGI shave.
But that's just the pathetic excuse they gave. Because really...
...YOU CAN'T SHAVE SUPERMAN'S MUSTACHE!!!
(Bracing myself for the onslaught of comments informing me that either Superman can shave with his heat vision or his hair doesn't grow, as if I didn't already know all this. It's a joke, people).
Anyway, what would have been so bad with Superman sporting a stache? It's not as if he hadn't come back from the dead in comics with different hair before.
And really, the mustache would have looked super:
See, when Kal-El "died" he was actually transported to 1890, and...hey, if Grant Morrison can do it with Batman, I can do it with Superman!!
BTW, that comic Superman is reading in the barber's chair? It was the then-current issue of Batman, albeit without the background colored...
Man, you guys learn so damn much from this cow-town puppet show of a blog!!
From Superman #38 (1946), Superman #35 (1945), and Batman #32 (1945)
