Some answers only give rise to more questions.
In ye olde Silver/Bronze Age, Superman's costume was created by Ma Kent out of baby Kal-El's blankets from the rocket. And being made of Kryptonian fabric the suit was indestructible (except when it wasn't, because, you know, DC).
But Superman has more than one costume, right? He has spares for when Mr. Mxyzptlk turns his main costume chartreuse, or for his Superman robots, or for loaning to Batman or Mon-El for secret identity charades, or...well, you get the idea.
So, the original costume may have been indestructible...but what about the spares?
Well, in the pre-internet era, only THE ANSWER MAN could help us:
"Destruction-resistant"? What does that even mean?? They can withstand standard explosions, but not atomic blasts? The first 8 bullets are stopped, but after that, you're on your own?
And how, exactly, did you make Earth fabric "destruction-resistant?" And why the heck not patent that process, sell it, and give the proceeds to orphans or the starving? I mean, Reed Richards patented and sold unstable molecules...I'm sure a Superman-invented process to make clothes destruction-resistant would be worth a heckuva lot of dough.
Or did Superman borrow some fabric from, oh, I don't know, Thanagar or thereabouts?
Seriously, I spend WAAAAY too much time thinking about things like this...
