As I recall, the series wasn't actually set on Earth, was it? Just some world at a genrally Victorian level of development?
Let's see...Wikipedia says "The series takes place on the planet Arcadia, primarily in the fictional town of Partington, in a Victorian-era setting tinged with elements of magic and fantasy." That's saves them from having to worry too much about anachronisms...

I wonder if they'll stick to CrossGen's tactic of making it almost Victorian England, but not quite. I loved Ruse, but that detail always bugged me.
