You would think that after 33 issues...
...he wouldn't be a rookie anymore...
(editor's note--Due to a necessary impurity in his brain, snell has neglected to note that there weren't really 33 issues of Rookie Cop...the mag changed its title from Crime And Justice after issue #26, when it promoted the Rookie Cop feature (starring rookie cop Sam Barton) to cover cop.)
(snell's retort--yes, but since Rookie Cop debuted in Crime And Justice #24, there were still 10 bi-monthly (sometimes quarterly) issues, and 40 some individual stories featuring Rookie Cop, that ran from May 1955 to August 1957. I submit to you that having been on the beat for more than two years--and having made innumerable busts of big bad guys--Barton's "rookie" days were well past him.)
(editor's rejoinder--perhaps. But it should be pointed out that, that while trying to do a quickie post, these stupid faux- "editor's note" debates have resulted in a post that actually took longer to put together than your epic hockey-playing vampire opus yesterday.)
(snell's rebuttal--Touché!)
