What's behind Marvel's fixation on making the Black Panther a tough-ass street level brawler? First the pistol-packin' urban vigilante back in 2003, then the recent "Man Without Fear" move to Hells Kitchen....and now THIS?
I don't get it. One of the most original and ground breaking characters in the history of the medium forced to go the urban vigilante route yet again.
Aside from the USA coloring, I love the way the costume looks like something a Marvel 1990s artist would come up with in a desperate bid to ape Image. Pouches? Really?

He looks like he's wearing some kind of light body armor. I would think that would cramp his usual fighting style.
First he's no longer king of Wakanda, now the loss of his all-black costume. Are they trying to suck out EVERYTHING that was cool about T'Challa?
And why the body armor? Isn't moving with silence and stealth supposed to be his ENTIRE DEAL?
