This cover raises some very troubling questions:
A) If we take Archie literally, can one really make it to their senior year in high school in Riverdale without once receiving a passing grade? In any subject?
B) If just a jest, it seems kind of cruel, with your class and your teacher and your principal grandly mocking your relative lack of academic achievement...No wonder Moose is always in such a pissy mood.
C) So, how many games do Riverdale High's sports teams have to go back and forfeit now, for using an ineligible player?
Laugh #242 is from 1971

I'm pretty sure that there are rules in place which state that you can only hold a student back to a maximum of two or three times in high school before they have to be moved on regardless of their actual academic standing(elementary school is automatic advancement no matter what their grades are, if I understand it to my last knowledge correctly)...which would also help to explain why Moose is so much bigger and stronger than the rest of his classmates, being at least a handful of years older than his still-developing gawky teen-type peers.
And even then, he might still technically be in Grade 10, but be doing placement Grade 9a or some other subsidiary/supplementary-type of school work while in his classes, etc.
