Let's take a look at this week's Detective Comics #6.
First off, Batman has a couple of questions for the manager of a flop house motel:
Uhh, you're the Goddamned Batman...you could have deflected that gun any which way you wanted. So he hurt himself? OK...
Smooth.
And later, Batman is hunting for a particular stooge to squeeze some information out of:
Wow, maybe I shouldn't have said "squeeze."
Well. There are a lot of ways to interpret Batman. But Tony Salvador Daniel, you Frank-Miller-wannabe, torture-porn-portraying guy, that's just not a Batman I care to read. I hope you have a good career. But I won't be along for the ride.

This is worse than that time the Crimson Avenger got a prostate exam! Damn you, Johnny DC!! Damn you to Hell!!!
That's ruddy awful - glad I gave up after last issue. The first couple of this new run were interesting but each issue has been worse than the last. And Batman books in which I hear Bale, no thank you!
Miller and Nolan have RUINED Batman for me.
Just my two cents. Reading these few panels makes me glad I have successfully ignored the 'new 52' thus far.
I've always thought of The Dark Knight Returns as Miller's take on "The Last Batman Story", and I like the Nolan films for their 1970s crime-movie vibe (I can tolerate Bale's Batman voice, even though it goes to levels of parody Adam West didn't consider). But these samples of what's going on in one of the current Batbooks just makes me sad for the state of my favorite superhero.
I'm surprised you lasted THIS long on that book. I dropped it like it was hot after issue#1.
Tony Daniel is another one of those creators like David Finch and Rob Liefeld whose reason for getting so much high-profile work at DC HAS to be due to some graphic Dan DiDio Polaroids in their possession.
The Scott Snyder/Greg Capullo BATMAN book is vastly superior to DETECTIVE and is the best current Bat-book on the selves. I highly recommend it to Bat-fans instead of this crap.
Also, I preferred Bale's Batman voice in "Batman Begins" to how it sounded in "Dark Knight".
The reasons?
1. In the first movie he only used the "Bat-Growl" when interrogating criminals and used a softer tone when, say, talking with Gordon. In the second movie he was "All Bat-Growl, All The Time".
2. In the second movie, they decided to DIGITALLY ENHANCE it. They REALLY didn't need to.
Why so serious...?
Aha...heh..aheh...but seriously, I agree. Miller's vision has skewed things quite a bit. Can you imagine any version of Clark as a friend of this guy? Can you imagine JLU's version of Diana being attracted to this guy? Where is the hero?
