Dial E For Eternity--Killer Art!!

Man, I could have sworn I read this story before.

Anyway, after always getting nagged by Keeper about spending too much time on Earth, Kid Eternity has taken Keep's advice, and is taking advantage of the tremendous pool of knowledge and talent in Eternity!

But is Keeper satisfied...?

Dude, it wouldn't take much to be smarter than you!

So, because he's an insecure immortal being, now Keeper is talking Kid into going to Earth!!

D'oh!!

Meanwhile, at the museum--REJECTION!!

Harsh!

But fortunately for Demos, help is close at hand!

Yup, nothing suspicious about that at all!!

But damned if the paints don't work!

Well, later, when Kid and Keeper show up at the museum...

How to stop a charging tiger?

Martin Johnson!!

Mr. Tawny, noooooooo!!!!!!

Plus, it didn't save the victim!

Yet, there's something different about this tiger...

Meanwhile, what about Demos' tiger painting?

Damn, I know I've read this somewhere before...

Apparently by sheer coincidence--the story doesn't help us much here--our ectoplasmic duo see Skir leaving Demos' studio--and Keeper recognizes him!!

Kid...you died and were revived to an eternal life with magical powers. Maybe be a little less skeptical of the supernatural?!?

So how to catch a villain fleeing through the alleys?

Fagin?!?! You know, just because he taught kids to parkour through London, doesn't necessarily mean the old guy was particularly fleet himself!

In any case, Fagin is certainly not fast enough to catch a guy who can do this:

CHEATING!!

Anyway, heading back to Demos' studio...

There they find Demos knocked out, and his canvas...EMPTY!!

So what's the faux-governor up to?

MURDER!! Until Kid thrashes him!

So why did Skir want the governor dead?

At that moment, Skir is cleaning up the evidence...

Luckily, this is a big issue for "Kid Eternity comes bursting through windows"!!

Judge Hathorne?!? Do you really want to make this guy a hero, Kid? He was pretty unrepentant for his role in the execution of 19 innocent people, and--

HOLY SHIT!!!!

Dude, I know Skir was a bad guy, but come on, now!

Hey, the "black magic murder taught be to be a better artist" angle will almost certainly boost the price for your works, Demos!!

Has this deterred Kid's desire for bettering himself?

Nope!!

Hey, now I remember where I read this story before:

Actually, I read a reprint of it, and it wasn't black magic, it was alien paints that made the art come to life. Same premise, though.
