Speaking of Archie and fashion, perhaps the greatest moment in the history of counter-counter-culture comic covers come on the cover of Josie And The Pussycats #55 (June 1971):
Wow. Did that cover just call out feminism and fashion at the same time?!?! Where the hell's the Pulitzer for that commentary??
Of course, no comics line was ever more dedicated to portraying young people's fashions to look cool, while simultaneously mocking them. So maybe the hypocrisy in Archie Comics attacking "women's lib" for hypocrisy when it comes to fashion is a tad to Ouroborian...
