The Winter of Our Discontent

Wow, Secret Invasion (henceforth known as Skrullapalooza) gets underway in April.

4 months from now. 4 months of waiting for what is essentially a Marvel version of the DC Millennium maxi-series from 20 years ago.

Which means we can look forward to four more months of this riveting type of stuff in New Avengers:

Like watchin' paint dryAnd we can also look forward to four more months of this kind of thing in Mighty Avengers:

STILL better paced than New Avengers, thoughSpring has never seemed so far away...

Aside from the fact that Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Doctor Strange have no business being Avengers in the first place, can anyone explain to me why NONE of them are capable of detecting a Skrull in their midst?

Well, Chris, in fairness to Bendis, I could say that the story hasn't really gotten going yet, so maybe your questions could be answered.

Or I could use my near-genius level ability to make up ridiculous No-Prize worthy answers, like "These Skrulls are actually a clan close to the Dire Wraiths--so they could use magic to fool Strange!!"

But yeah, so far it's a complete reversal of what we know about our heroes and of what we know about Skrulls. And with the glacial pace things have been moving at, it's not like we haven't had time for a brief answer or two...
