Prophecies of Doom, 1977 Version

Prophecies of the comic industry's doom are nothing new.

Take, for example, this bromide from Joe Brancatelli in the January 1977 issue of Vampirella, opining that the death of Charlton Comics foretold the END OF ALL COMICS:

Yup, Warner had no hope of ever making money off of Superman, Batman, etc. Just sell those unprofitable comics and merchandising right and movie rights off, guys.

That's probably one of the things Superboy-Prime fixed when he punched the universe...
