What in the world do you do when your Sarge Steel story runs three pages short?
Why, you have Judomaster give you a three page primer on karate!
I know zip about karate, but I gotta say, this seems pretty authentic and detailed for a 1965 comic book. Perhaps we should start calling him Karatemaster!!
The piece is written and drawn by Judomaster's co-creator, Frank McLaughlin, so now I guess you have to start taking all of Judomaster's move more seriously, right?
This month, by the way, is the 10th anniversary of Bane killing Judomaster in Infinite Crisis #7. Written by DC's current Chief Creative Officer. Who has said that Identity Crisis is his perfect model of how to do an event series. In case you're wondering how the wheels came off at DC...
From Sarge Steel #6 (1964)

My fists are now lethal weapons. Thanks Judomaster!
Frank McLaughlin was a trained martial artist, so he does know what he's talking about here...
Interesting text. It must have seemed so much more exotic back then.
