In our mundane universe, there's no basement in the Alamo (sorry, Pee Wee).
But in the pre-Crisis DC Universe...
There is a basement under the World Trade Center.
A basement that's more of a cave!
A cave in which they were holding a super-villain prisoner.
So--beneath the World Trade Center, secret JLA prison for evil A.I.
There's your plot for the Justice League movie...
From Red Tornado #1 (1985)

Ummm...yeah, and 20 years from now that'll be viewed as neanderthalic pandering & delayed knee-jerk reactionism :P
At the *time*, it might have been viewed as topical enough to be worthy of inclusion with barely-tolerable schmaltz (see: the 'Spider-Man' film's 2002 NYC-ers pelting the Green Goblin on a bridge with "This is New York! You mess with one of us, you mess with all of us!"), but 10 years+ after 911? Nah. :)
Keep trying, though...I can't wait to see what u come up with right up until the movie actually comes out :D
BTW: Nice 'Big Adventure' reference ;) even if it made for a rather clunky segue :P
And for the record, the "secret basement" plot could & still might work imo...it just has to be moved to the United Nations, or even a secret satellite headquarters-type dealie :D
