Friday Night Fights--Evolution In Action Style!!

Many people have asked us here at Slay Monstrobot, "Why can't we see the Hulk fight Devil Dinosaur?"

Well, you've come to the right place, as time and space are no problem when it comes to Friday Night Fights!!

A young Celestial has grown frustrated by the way Devil Dinosaur helps the Small Folk fight off the Killer Folk--it's anti-evolutionary, he thinks.

So, some time travel hijinks, and:

BADOOMM!!

Spacebooger is fond of the theory that Moon Boy grew up to become Moon Knight...

Green beats red in Marvel Monsters: Devil Dinosaur #1 (2005), written by Tom Sniegoski with Eric Powell, illustrated by Eric Powell, colored by J.D. Mettler

Reading that reminds me of my biggest disappointment at having a personal theory – one about Moon Boy no less – be wrong. For a while, Marvel was working bits about EARTH X into their canon (the way that DC had been using KINGDOM COME), so I was curious if the Moon Tribe/Wolverine connection would ever be used in just way in the real continuity. Then, when the character of Romulus appeared as the ancient ur-Wolverine and started dropping hints about his age, I started thinking that Way in ORIGINS would eventually reveal him to be Moon Boy, having survived through all of human history and grown into that predatory figure as he watched the last of his tribe die out. I even envisioned Wolverine having to fight a preserved Devil Dinosaur alongside Romulus – it was such good fanon in my mind (using bits and pieces of Marvel continuity and harkening back to Ross & Krueger's alternate universe work), that I was especially put out when nothing even approaching it turned out to be the case and Romulus was just some ancient mutant guy or something (throws down Moon Boy-less book in rage-quit)...
