A perfect day for Kid and Keeper to do a whole lot of nothing...
...until:
I like the dog's reaction.
Still, a man in armor wandering around isn't that odd, is it?
Let's leave that determination up to Kid Eternity!!
But something is amiss, as the serfs sink the boat!
Well, that armor ain't gonna float, so...
Leander!! This is the mythological hero's second summoning!!
But the bad guys are getting away!!
Buffalo Bill!! This is also his second summoning!!
Wahoo!!
Unfortunately...
You can't really tell from the artwork there, but captured bad guy's compatriots shot him!!
Our knight finally wakes up...
'Tis a puzzle, indeed!
So where was he going on the water, anyway?
Lief (sic) Ericson!! This is old home week for Kid, because it's also Ericson's second summoning!!
And they come to...
A mysterious castle!!
Maybe now we can finally get some explanations!
Ahh, he's nuts!!
But the Kid is not buying it!
Geez, Kid, you must not know very many mentally ill people.
Still:
That's true. The "serfs" did try to kill Chris. So something odd is going on.
A little invisible and intangible eavesdropping reveals:
Just in case you didn't get that. let's summarize:
But a quick check of the will reveals...
So, what, Chris wouldn't notice part of the will wasn't in his father's handwriting?
But our criminal's master plan is now clear:
So Ralph inserts a paragraph into the will (in non-matching handwriting!) saying that Chris must behave like a lunatic for a year. So Chris will either be disinherited because he's nuts, and Ralph gets the money; or he dies in an "accident," and everybody shrugs because he was nuts, so you gotta figure--and Ralph inherits.
I don't want to suggest that the plan is overly complicated, but if you can forge part of the will, and Chris is that gullible, why not just insert a clause saying that "Ralph gets half," or some such? Hell, why not forge the entire will, and say Ralph gets it all? After all, Chris clearly doesn't recognize his dad's handwriting (or wishes)! But with this plan, Ralph got a year where something can go wrong, or Chris can wise up and get a lawyer.
Anyway, Ralph apparently is not secure in the "lunatics can't inherit" portion of the plan, because we're back to murder!
Well, Kid has a solution for that!
Lancelot!!
So when Mike thinks he's going to take on Chris...
OOPS!!
Ralph calls out the rest of his medieval droogs:
But Kid has the cure!!
King Arthur!! This is his second summons!!
What follows is a bit of a rout...
We wrap up the story a bit quickly, as...
We can only hope the police sorted the mess out, and the probate judge believed that the will was forged, and that Chris' tale of the appearing and disappearing angels who summoned heroes from the past doesn't end up convincing everyone that Chris is a lunatic after all, and...
In the 29th Kid Eternity story, most of the summons were repeats, which makes the standings...

From Kid Eternity #4 (1947)
A 10th century man claims to have fought against 14th-15th century armour. My pedant-sense is tingling.
