Dial E For Eternity--The Golden Age Hal Jordan?!?

Kid Eternity is besotted--with a book!

Well, Keeper is right, but it is an awfully good, fun read for someone Kid's age.

But Keeper is an old fuddy duddy:

Then again, maybe Keeper has a point about Kid being a little bit obsessed with the book...

They stumble upon a robbery...

Kid tries to deal with it himself.

Bad idea.

Given his obsession, it's no surprise when Kid summons...

Long John Silver!! This is LJ's second appearance!!.

But Keeper is right. Summoning pirates is a bad idea. First the brigand gets Kid to summon his crew:

And then, they fail miserably!

Gee, who ever would have thought that a bunch of malnourished pirates would get the crap kicked out of them by modern, healthy men?

Keeper says "I told you so" an awful lot in this story...

Time to send them back. But...

Kid, you idiot.

The Kid sneaks into the local police station to check some perp files..
.
And after combing "waterfront cafes"...

D'oh!!

Betrayed by a pirate? Who would have thought?

Ah...you "let" the crooks win the first time. Well played, sir.

Long John talks the crooks into helping him find treasure, a much more lucrative gig than hitting camera shops!

But...but..."Cap'n' Flint's treasure" was fictional! It's not real! You're never going to find it in the real world!!

Kid catches up with them on their stolen ship, and--big shocker here--it's another blow to the head!

OK, this is the third time in one story Kid has taken massive head trauma. That's gotta break Hal Jordan's record, right?

I'm beginning to believe the theories that these stories aren't real, they're just how this often-brain-damaged boy sees the world...

Keeper, I love you, but you're a total dick.

Kid is kept in captivity for three days--THREE DAYS!!.

OF COURSE YOU CAN'T FIND IT!! IT'S FICTIONAL!!!

 Sorry.

Long John Silver doesn't put up with mutiny!

And he's pretty handy with a gun!!

The final crook is (justifiably) scared, and releases Kid!

BAM!!!

Now now, finally, the Kid calls someone to deal with the pirate:

Jim Bowie!!

Well, maybe you sent Bowie away too soon, Kid.

Geronimo!

Sigh. Forgive the offensive characterization (although, as a lame defense I could say that Kid & Geronimo are probably playing it up just to scare the bejeezus out of Silver).

Oh, don't worry, Kid is just teaching him a lesson.

That will take care of Kid's obsession with Treasure Island, right?

Well, it is a good book!!

Still, the character you summoned did outright kill two crooks. Granted, they were crooks, but they were thieves, not killers. Is this something Eternity endorses, letting deceased fictional characters go around offing living, breathing humans?

I'd blame the head injuries, Kid...
