I had never realized...
...that accordions had model years.
I'm sure that back in the day, families would go to the accordion lots on Sundays (a day they were all closed, thanks to collusion by the big accordion dealers) and gaze at all the shiny chrome, dreaming of the day they could afford to buy a new accordion instead of simply trading in for a used one...

Don't joke :D given a diff' set of circumstances, the accordian could've joined the guitar, drums, bass, saxophone, harmonica, trumpet & later attempts at the flute as honest-to-God Rock & Roll instruments :D ...just google 'The Three Chuckles' n' keep clicking till u find the video i mean ;) tbh, i don't remember the name of the song of the top of my head, but the lead singer plays an absolutely *blistering* authentic rock & roll.accordion on one of their signature hits :D
ReplyDelete'Cinnamon Sinner' :) from 'The Girl Can't Help It', featuring Jayne Mansfield & also Little Richard, which gives it authentic Rock & Roll roots :) shows early rock connections to the accordion in full, glorious technicolour :) ...but there was another video of them in black & white where he performs with the accordion as the signature featured instrument then & there :/ i just can't find it atm :( either way, check them out n don't joke ;)
