Back in the day, at least (I don't know what the situation is now, nor do I particularly want to), that's *all* Tony wore under the armor. So, if he was shown getting into or out of the armor... yep.
Not something I ever particularly *wanted* to know, but... there you go.
To be fair, it makes sense. Having to adjust boxers when they bunch up *inside pants* is bad enough, but doing so in a metal suit? Impossible – and just try fighting AIM with your frank 'n beans pinched like that. Of course, much like the goatee vs. mustache issue, we could well be dealing with a boxer-brief retcon over time, but not in the material covered here.
