Manic Monday--NASA Was Kind Of Weird In The Silver Age

Batman and Robin have been spending way too much fighting crime, and they've almost forgotten an important social obligation!

So NASA (or maybe the U.S. military?) honors second-tier derivative heroes at their rocket launches?

Apparently, yes:

So, NASA names their greatest space rockets after second-tier heroes--AND gives them gold crowns, AND declares them "Queen Of Space"?!?!?!

Obviously, that was before all the budget cuts...
