Why DC Has So Many Skimpy Costumes?!?

Did you ever worry about Dick Grayson getting cold during Gotham winters in that Robin outfit?

Well, it turns out you needn't have been concerned:

See?

And obviously the same applies to Starfire, Wonder Girl, and other scantily clad females in the DC Universe, right? They're not nearly starkers, they're wearing skin-colored costuming!!

  1. There's an episode of the 1966 TV series that ends with Mr. Freeze turning Batman and Robin into "human popsicles" -- in the next episode, though, we learn all is well because Batman and Robin were wearing their "bat thermal underwear." Even as a kid I thought that was lame because - duh - clearly Robin would have lost both legs. But now, thanks to this blog, I know better!

  2. On the tv show, it's pretty apparent Robin was wearing pantyhose...

  3. They weren't so much pantyhose as they were TIGHTS, Britt! :) In the second serial, Robin wore leggings or tights over his legs. I don't know if he had 'em in the first serial or not, though. :)
