Manic Guardians Monday #1--Let's Not Forget The Real Guardians

I am afraid that, in all the hullabaloo over wise-cracking raccoons and talking trees and Karen Gillan being bald, we might be forgetting the original Guardians Of The Galaxy.

So let's review, shall we?

In the 31st century, Earth will have many colonies:

But, of course, the good times couldn't last...

Oh, there were survivors...

Wahoo!

Nothing against the new Guardians...I loved the cosmic shtick Abnett and Lanning laid down.

But I'm not happy that Marvel has forgotten their 31st century, that the Guardians' decades of history don't even justify a footnote anymore, that the newcomers are getting all the glory along with the trademark.

There's room for many an Avengers team in Marvel-616. Why can't we have two Guardian teams, one present-day, one in the future?

I know, fat chance...

  1. A whole solar system full of beings...but they all (including the Badoon) were two-armed, one-headed bipedal humanoids. Sigh. The future needs more heroic blobs.

  2. In fairness, Smurf, all of the ones from the Terran system are of human ancestry, either evolved or genetically engineered to survive their new environments. So of course they look human.

As to Yondu and the Badoon, well, blame the Celestials...
