Well, let's rectify that today, shall we?
Tomorrow Jones is a new digital comic series by writer Brian Daniel and artist Johan Manandin:
“Tomorrow Jones” is about a 14 year-old girl named Tomorrow whose parents are both superheroes and want her to follow in their footsteps. Tomorrow doesn’t want to dress in skimpy spandex though, and starts fighting crime unmasked and simply wearing jeans and a T-shirt with her real initials on it.
And you know what? It's pretty good.
I don't want to oversell this as the next Watchmen or anything. But it's an enjoyable, fun series debut with a young female protagonist who's real, not cheesecake. It's an interesting look at realistic family dynamics through a superheroic context.
As has been said, anyone can do a good first issue. But this was a pretty good first issue, I like the character of Tomorrow Jones, I like her family, and I'm looking forward to more.
Do yourself a favor and go read the preview. And the full 30-page issue #1 is available for only $1.99 in various digital formats. (No, they're no on Comixology yet. Maybe you could drop Comixology a polite note asking them to rectify this) There are worse comics you'll spend more on tomorrow, so why not throw a couple of books towards some true independents with a good new book?
Regular snark will return tomorrow...
Thank you so much, I loved the preview. Sold!
