Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out!

Now, presenting one of the great debates of our time:

Yes, the scruffy quasi-beard and hip-for-1971-if-you're-a-middle-class-white-collar-comic-writer dialogue would seem to give our unidentified hippie (ish) guy an well-nigh insurmountable advantage in this point/counterpoint.

But wait, because Archie and Jughead and going to pull some logic fu on him:

Uhhh...Miss Grundy...that equation? We seem to be lacking sufficient information to solve it. Miss Grundy??

The cross-examination continues:

Uh...Archie...I thought these were supposed to be reason in favor of staying in school...

The hippie inquisition continues:

Does Weatherbee have hidden cameras in the classroom or something? He's waiting almost before the boys have exited the classroom!! Maybe he just stands out there at this time every day...on the not unreasonable prediction that Archie and/or Jughead will be banished again.

Still, the debate rages:

Dear hip-for-1971-if-you're-a-middle-class-white-collar-comic-writers: You kinda blew it with the "Archiekins" and "Juggiekins." I'm just sayin.'

So, it would seem we have a really clear winner in this debate:

WHAT?!?!

I can understand Archie and Jughead wanting to stay in high school--they've been there for 70 years, and there's no way they're getting off that gravy train.

But seriously, hippie guy was persuaded by the boys' "arguments," which boil down to: bad teachers with unsolvable equations, inedible food, constant punishment, and high school girls who haven't put out in 7 decades??

Although in my heart, I'm hoping hippie guy is trashing the sign not because he was convinced, but rather because he now knows that Riverdale is too much the repressed Squaresville to ever recruit anyone to "do their thing."

Perhaps he should try Smallville next...
