I think this was pretty clearly jumping on the bandwagon, i.e., astronauts are hot, kids want to be astronauts, promise them your product/process will make them like astronauts. In the 40's the tagline was "Commando tough" because during the War Commando's were sold as real-life supermen. If they were still running the ads today's would probably be "Navy Seal Tough".
