Hmmm, I haven't won Friday Night Fights for a couple of weeks--I'd better show someone beating the crap out of Hal Jordan!!
Good old bogeyman Krona has been revived and empowered by Nekron (two villains who really need to never ever appear again), in a comic book you know 8 year-old Geoff Johns read the living hell out of.
Big old humungo Krona has laid waste to the mighty Green Lantern Corp:
Everyone is unconscious except Hal...but he's got a plan!!(uh-oh)
Poor Hal...control over all the Green Lanterns' rings, and the best "the greatest Green Lantern ever" can come up with a generic power blast. Kinda lame, but this just might work...
Uh, no. Gotta love the baffled look on Hal's face.
And Krona ends it thusly:
Night night, Hal.
Spacebooger may not believe that willpower is an emotion, but he's quite sure that beat-down is on the "emotional spectrum."
Hal fails badly in Tales Of The Green Lantern Corps #2 (1981), plot by Mike W. Barr, script Len Wein ("featuring concepts created by Marv Wolfman"), art by Joe Staton and Frank McLaughlin.
And all you readers--join in the fights. Because there's an awful lot of scenes of Hal Jordan being humiliated out there that I don't have access to. Come play each Friday!! It's fun!!
Pretty good for a villain whose chief villainous act was....watching a viewscreen showing God's creative hand....which somehow (in true comic book logic) unleashed evil upon the universe AND created the Multiverse.
ReplyDeleteHeh. Poor Hal, he thought he had it in the bag. His subsequent befuddlement is always amusing. But...being Hal...I'm sure he wins eventually, because that's what Hal does.
